Church Family, What an exciting time it is here at FUMC of DeRidder! We are very happy to announce that THIS Sunday, June 7th, is our grand re-opening of in person worship! With this being said, PLEASE remember that many folks who are older, or have underlying health conditions, are still encouraged to stay at home for a couple more weeks. We are trying our best to assist those individuals to follow along online on our Facebook Live page, or on our YouTube page. As always, I am here if you have any questions being directed to these sites.
As a reminder from Laraine:
"Our first Sunday back will be a high energy, joyful celebration as we combine a celebration of Easter Sunday, Pentecost Sunday and We Are Back Sunday all into one! Bring a cut flower from your yard to place on our large cross as you enter into the church! We will then move the cross outside after the church service for everyone to enjoy the flowers as they go down Shirley Street. It will be a beautiful display of color! We will have some extra flowers if you do not have any to bring yourself."
We have ordered many colorful carnations from Glass Flowers for this occasion. If you cannot attend church, you may drive by after service or stop and take pictures of you and your family with the beautiful display of flowers on the cross! Please share on our Facebook page, or send a picture to my e-mail for me to post in next month's newsletter!
Attached is a copy of this Sunday's bulletin, along with a PowerPoint presentation that will be projected on our big screen in the sanctuary during service. If you are planning on attending service this Sunday, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BULLETIN. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hand out bulletins just yet. This is one of the main reasons we have set up the projector for service. We are in hopes this PowerPoint Presentation will help you all follow along, whether you are in the sanctuary or at home. I will continue to work on making these presentations easier to read...I have not used PowerPoint in almost a decade, so please be patient with me as I brush up my skills in this area!
