Dear Church Members and Community,
As I stated Sunday, I felt like that would be our final time together in person for awhile - and that has turned out to be true. As of 4 pm today, the church buildings are closed. The Corona Virus has continued to spread and we need to keep everyone out of harms way. And, even though the buildings are closed, the church is not closed because the church is YOU!
We do have so many ways that we are going to continue to worship, study the Bible and serve Christ in this community and beyond.
The great news is that not only do we have Facebook with which to live stream, we also have our own YouTube Channel that you will be able to watch Sunday Service (Yep! A few of us will be bringing you church on Sundays!), Bible Study on Wednesday and so much more. Sunday service will continue at 10 a.m. on Sundays. Bible Study will continue at 6 pm on Wednesday.
Ashley Carpenter will be placing posts with activities and lessons for you to have with your kids. Kelley Allen will be posting links for our children and children's choir members to practice their singing so they can sing when we return. John Schwarze and our instrumentalists will be providing us with great music to our Sunday Worship services.
Laraine will be bringing occasional devotionals through Facebook so check back regularly.
We will continue to have committee meetings through Zoom and/or phone conferencing. Be watching your email.
One the website, we have a link for you to continue to give whether it is for the general budget, backpacks of food for kids, missions, Circles for Missions, etc.

This button to give is located at the top of the page of our website, www.fumcderidder.org).
If you need to reach us or Laraine just call the office number
because we will be receiving your calls. Or you can email her at
Please, call, Facetime, text and check on your neighbors and friends. Socialize through these various sources. Spend time in prayer. Send cards through the mail. Be watching for more ideas to continue to be in ministry. And, of course, pray, pray and pray.
God will see us through this! "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 Love and prayers!
