WE KNOW IT, WE SAY IT... HAVE WE EXPLORED LIVING IT?

unnamed 2

Dear Friends:

It has been part of the liturgy of the church for hundreds of years.

It is an essential core of our Sunday morning worship.

It is something that those who grow up in a Christian environment know for about as long as they can remember.

It is one of the only times Jesus gave a straight answer to a question, rather than speaking in a parable.

It is something we pray at our own peril, because it puts us right in the center of being held to account for our own attitudes and actions, in that how we choose to forgive others is tied to and a direct reflection of our understanding of God.

It is something that we are inclined, from time-to-time, to consider as a rote part of our worship, not giving it as much thought and reflection as we should.

It is something that has the ability, should we be so inclined, to radically change our lives and the lives of those around us forever.

By now, I think you may have figured out that I speak of what is known as the Lord's Prayer.

Over the next six Wednesdays @ 6:00PM, we will be exploring a fantastic study of this prayer through a different lens as we seek to grow in our faith and knowledge of God's grace personified in Christ our Lord.

Prayer is a crucial way for us to experience God’s grace. Jesus used The Lord's Prayer to teach all disciples about how to communicate with God. Christians also order their lives around their relationships with each other, and these relationships are strengthened through personal and corporate prayer with God. The Lord's Prayer is a template for how to bring our needs, concerns, and challenges to God, who cares for each of us.

Books are available at no charge from Camille in the church office.

Childcare is provided (please let Camille know if you will be needing childcare.)

It is recommended but not required that you snag a copy of the book before this week's session.

Come join us for what will be a great time of community, prayer, and study for a little over an hour each week!

Questions? Let me know!

Grace and Peace,

Lamar

P.S. You may notice the graphic says we started August 1. Our August 1 session was simply an overview and book distribution, so do not feel bad if you missed...IT'S NOT TOO LATE!
